Mountain climbing is a fun and exciting sport. There are many aspects in this activity that anybody can enjoy and appreciate. It's really no wonder that this sport continues to enjoy popularity among people of all ages.
Enjoying Mountain Climbing
Enjoying mountain climbing isn't difficult. However, there are certain considerations you have to prepare for ahead of time so you won't have to worry when you get outdoors.
These things would best pertain to the basic aspects of your survival in the mountain climbing environment. Remember, you will be in the outdoors.
You are far from the comforts of your home. Thus, you need to bring along the things that will help you survive. These could include your mountain climbing equipment, first aid kit, guide or even the food that you will eat.
Mountain Climbing Food
The food that you will eat shall ensure your survival in the woods and mountains. This serves as your main source of energy for the things you will do throughout the day.
Just imagine how enjoyable it will be to camp out at night and enjoy some good food as you talk with your climbing group.
However, since this is the outdoors, you can't indulge any time you want with all your favorite foods. Unless you bring your refrigerator in your backpack, you will have to stick with the necessaties.
. Pack Light
Choose food that will be light for your pack. It must fit in your pack and it must not cause too much of a burden. The food must supply, and not deprive, you with the energy you will need.
. Avoid Easily Perishable Goods
As much as possible, avoid bringing along perishable goods. It must be able to sustain the length of your trip. Choose the kind of food that won't easily crumble as you move along.
Take into account also the days you will be climbing so you can assign properly the food menu in your pack. Consume first those that will spoil easily.
. Dry Not Oily
Bring dry foods, not the oily ones. The latter type tends to get messy. The dry foods will also be easier for you to eat, with not much preparation needed.
. Energy Food for Snacks
It is also a good idea to bring with you some energy food or snacks. They can easily be munched on as you do your mountain climbing.
