Dragons

Dragons

Did dragons really exist? This continues to be quite a mystery but no remains of them have ever been found. Many stories from medieval times though include knights that go hunting for dragons. Legend has it that dragons had a high bounty on their heads and royalty would pay a very nice sum of silver and gold to have them slaughtered. Yet with all the technology we have today and all the artifacts discovered there has never been anything found that could be the remains of dragons.

Even so, they continue to be a big part of stories and in many cultures they are symbolic in nature. They are also said to be magical in many cultures due to their abilities to heal people and to breath fire. Some stories portray dragons as very intelligent creatures that wouldnt harm anyone unless they were in trouble themselves. Many would say this explains whey they became extinct as they didnt have the heart to attack others and when they did it was often too late.

In other stories and cultures though the dragon is a symbol of strength and power. It is something to be feared. These stories talk of dragons killing people for food and even breathing fire on fields of crops to destroy them. In these instances dragons were considered to be something to fear and that a person should hope they never came into contact with.

The artistic designs of dragons are all that most of us have to go on for a visual picture. They are often drawn as very large and colorful animals. They are generally green in color with other colors mixed in. They have a very long body and a powerful tale. Many types of dragon art also show them breathing fire from their mouths for long distances.

It isnt uncommon for people to get tattoos of dragons. This type of art is a way for them to have something powerful on their body. These dragons are often placed on the arms or the back where they have plenty of room to be designed. They can be very beautiful when they are completed but it can take several sessions for it to happen.
