How To Lose ,+ List Subscribers Overnight

I made a HUGE mistake with one of my subsciber lists just recently. You'd think after successful years as an Internet marketer that I would know the formula by now. Here's the Tried-and-True Formula: Build an Autoresponder Series + Write a Weekly, Bi-Weekly or Monthly Newsletter + Bring Visitors to Site = Win-Win situation - Subscribers receive valuable offers of interest to them and list owner generates income from purchases through their own, or affiliate links. The formula is perfect. It works like a charm each and every time - when you use it! But just because you know the formula, doesn't mean you follow it. Well, you should, and let me show you why. I started my 'Singles eScene' [SeS] newsletter for my http://sage-hearts.com dating service review site in . The [SeS] had , subscribers - up until a couple of weeks ago. At that time, I sent my subscribers an offer to attend a free John Gray teleminar. John Gray, Ph.D., is the author of best-selling books, including 'Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus' and is a relationships expert. Relationships - something singles are interested in, right? Then why did more than , people unsubscribe from the [SeS] within a few days of receiving that message? There's only one good explanation. The last time I sent them a newsletter was more than months ago! Most were probably wondering, 'What the heck is the Singles eScene?' and/or 'I didn't signup for this!' So, they got busy clicking those unsubscribe links. Let's look at the bright side first. There IS an advantage to list 'culling'. My autoresponder service, Aweber, charges . per month for each additional , subscribers. So, I just saved $ over the coming year. But the truth of the matter is that my laziness cost me much more. I know that on average, two of every [SeS] subscribers buy an annual dating service membership for $.. Four more purchase recurring monthly $. memberships that they keep for an average of months. With a % commission rate... I just tossed $ down the drain over the next twelve months. The lesson is simple. People buy from people they know, like and trust. So, build your list with your autoresponder series AND regular newsletter broadcasts... and let them get to know, like and trust you! © Copyright Rosalind Gardner, All Rights Reserved.
