Article Body: The Indian Ocean Lodge is situated on the west coast of Praslin, and the hotel stands on a prime site on Grand Anse, the island's longest beach. The hotel nestles amongst mature Takamaka trees and colourful tropical plants just a few steps from the sea. The rooms are arranged in eight separate units.

Whilst we loved the Indian Ocean Lodge Seychelles on the island of Praslin, you have to be careful when you visit. From May until December because of the prevailing wind you may find the beach covered in washed up seaweed. Although this does get cleaned off, it can spoil your photographs of what is essentially a barefoot tropical paradise on one of the best beaches in the world.

Apart from this we found the hotel in a beautiful situation, it was very intimate, and quite sumptious.

It was completely made over a number of years ago, which has obviously made a huge difference.

The situation on Grand Anse is almost perfect, because it is a huge beach of powder white sand, in fact picture perfect. My belief is that Praslin is as beautiful a place as you could wish for a vacation. My advice is to get off mahe, and stay on one of the outer or inner islands, and of all of them, Praslin is my favourite. I first visited over twenty years ago, and unlike many other vacation spots I could name, it is still recognisable today.

The main memory I shall bring home are the four poster beds, and the enormous showers with double heads, and tons of water!! This is not to forget the unforgettable views from the balcony, and the high quality catering, which is the real key to a great vacation in paradise.

Please note the hotel is next to a small village, and it is very easy to pop on the local bus.
