Parking Permits

We have all had times when we go to a place and we struggle to find a place to park. That parking may be free or there may be a charge associated with it. One way that many locations help with the problem is by issuing parking permits. This ensures people arent taking up parking when they are accessing someplace across the street or even down the block.

Many college campuses have parking permits that a person has to stick in the windows. This is to identify them as a student. This fee is usually added in to the various administrative fees. There are certain parking areas for visitors as well. There are often security enforcers that look for such parking permits around the campus. If you dont have one you can end up with a ticket. In extreme cases it can result in your car being towed away.

In large cities parking can easily become a problem. Paying for it each day when you head into work can also become expensive. As a result many employers are offering to pay for parking permits. If nothing else they at least are willing to get you a reduced cost for it. This can help when you consider how many work days the average person will have in an average year.

It is mandated by law in the United States for parking lots to have spaces reserved for handicap individuals. They are likely to be right in front of the building. They are marked in blue so that they can be easily identified. Some have a picture of a person in a wheelchair painted into the space as well.

There are hanging parking permits that are given to these individuals. They must hang it from their rearview mirror or display it on the dash when parking in such a place. It is a huge infraction to park in one of these spaces when you dont have such a parking permit. You may walk out to discover your car has been towed away. At the very least you will be slapped with a hefty fine.

Parking permits are designed to help reduce chaos from happening. The problem is that people often think they are above needing to conform to such rules. This is why many agencies have to go to great lengths to enforce them. Parking permits in general often make the process of getting a space better for those that should be in the vicinity though.
