Yes, the release of the most awaited game console Playstation in the United States last November th bought with it not only a whip in the market but a stir of violence in a lot of people as well. This was somewhat unexpected, as its main purpose was supposedly for the amusement of its buyers, but on that day, it turned out the other way around with people fighting for Playstation .

Reported incidents of one person being shot while camped outside a Wal-Mart store waiting in line to be the first to buy the Playstation , as he refused to give his wallet to robbers; another incident of drive-by shooting using BB guns to people waiting in line to buy a Playstation ; a twenty-two year old being physically mugged while suspects tried to steal his Playstation outside a Best Buy parking lot; and two Wal-Mart stores completely shutting down because of the unruly crowds that wanted to get themselves a PS.

These incidents of people fighting for Playstation has become rather amusing incidents as it brings out another side of how far people are willing to go just to have themselves a PS in their homes. Although this may be an advantage to the company selling it, in terms of “demand”, the fact still remains that Playstation caused quite a chaos on its release and should be seen as a “realization” of how these video game entertainment systems have taken control over people’s way of thinking, making them look like children fighting over a couple of candy bars.

However, not all people who were waiting to have the Playstation that day, was hit with violence; people fighting for Playstation was not the only available scenario, on the other side of things, there were also aspiring PS consumers who changed the late-night-waiting into store “front door” parties with complete finger foods and music, enjoying all through the night to lighten the burden that PS has physically and financially done to them.
