For high school seniors that are planning to go to college next fall, completing the SAT exam is very important. It is often a requirement for the application process of most colleges. You must provide information on your SAT scores and if you know which schools you will be applying to. You can put those codes on your SAT exam information and they will send the test results directly to the colleges. You can choose up to three schools to send them to. Some students dont want to do this though because they want to see what their score is first.

It can be very stressful to know so much is being evaluated by your SAT score. This is why many schools and parents do all they can to help students be prepared. There are books where you can take practice tests and there are even online sites where you can do them. This way a student knows what type of questions will be asked and the format for the SAT exam.

The SAT exam is given on set days and at set times at various locations. There is limited space available and so students must register in advance to take it. They must show up at the test site on time. A photo ID is required and the student needs to bring along their own pencils. No other materials can be used but scratch paper will be offered by the facilitator of the test. Students will have a set amount of time to take the test as well.

Students can go online to find out where the testing locations will be and when. The tests are offered on Saturdays generally and your school should post information about them as well. Registration for a test can be done online as well as paying for it. Students can also view their SAT scores online once they have registered there.

It is estimated that approximately two million students take the SAT exam each year. The tests are similar but not all the same. This way those that have completed the test can t share test questions with others. There are certain companies that have the job of collecting questions and answers for the SAT exam.
