Snowshoe Mountain

The Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort has the reputation of being an “upside-down ski resort” in West Virginia. Instead of sitting at the bases of the slopes, the resort villages of Snowshoe Mountain are situated right on top of it. Featuring downhill slopes, Snowshoe Mountain offers exciting West Virginia skiing year-round on the state’s second highest peak.

Elk River Touring Center

Cascading down the southern face of Snowshoe Mountain, the Elk River features an kilometers of cross country West Virginia skiing. Because of its multi-season skiing, the Elk River Tour Center remains one of West Virginia’s most popular skiing destination. For accommodations, you have a choice between slopeside huts and houses or luxurious condos and cabins located all around.
